Locations & Travel

Where is Charmed Family Resorts located?

We have two magical locations in Alberta, Canada: one in the scenic Crowsnest Pass (Blairmore) and one in Mulhurst Bay near Pigeon Lake.

Where are the closest airports?

Crowsnest Pass: Lethbridge Airport (1.5 hrs), Canadian Rockies International (2 hrs), or Calgary International (2.5 hrs).
Mulhurst Bay: Edmonton International (45 mins) or Calgary International (2.5 hrs).

Are all the cottages in the same area?

Our Crowsnest Pass resort has two areas: Storybook Square and Wonder Way. They are a 2-minute drive or a 5-minute walk apart.

Bookings & Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

Payment in full is required at the time of booking.

  • 30+ days before arrival: 95% refund.
  • 14–30 days before arrival: 50% refund.
  • Less than 14 days: 0% refund.

Note: Early departures, no-shows, or weather conditions do not qualify for refunds.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Storybook Square: Check-in at 2:00 PM; Check-out at 10:00 AM.
Wonder Way: Check-in at 4:00 PM; Check-out at 12:00 PM.
Note: We are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs.

What are your rates and fees?

Rates vary by season. In addition to the nightly rate, there is a cleaning fee and local taxes. A $200 damage hold is placed on your credit card the day you check in.

Do you allow pets?

Yes, we allow dogs for a $50 fee. Dogs must be on a leash and supervised at all times. Unclaimed pets are subject to a $200 fine.

Amenities & Facilities

Is there Wi-Fi?

No. To help you connect with nature and each other, we do not provide guest Wi-Fi.

Can I drink the water?

Yes. Our water comes from the town. Each bathroom has a sink with running water, and there is a water spigot located outside each cottage.

Is there a toaster or coffee maker?

No. We only provide the items listed under each cottage’s specific amenities. We recommend checking our suggested packing list before your stay.

Are the cottages wheelchair accessible?

The Gingerbread Cottage is wheelchair friendly, featuring a parking pad, roll-in shower, and accessible beds.

Is there heat inside the cottages?

Yes, we are open year-round. All cottages include an electric fireplace or a block heater to keep you warm.

Activities & Experience

How does the wood-fired hot tub work?

Each cottage has its own tub. It takes 2–3 hours to heat, so patience is required. Firewood is available for $15 per bundle (we do not provide hatchets).

Does each cottage have its own firepit?

Yes. We ask that fires never be left unattended and that guests obey all local fire bans. You may bring your own wood or buy bundles from us for $15.

Are there wild animals at the resort?

Wildlife encounters are possible. Please never approach animals or leave food outside. Information on wildlife and tick protection can be found in our resort guide.

Can I visit if I am not a guest?

No. The resort is reserved for registered guests only, except during specific community events.

Do you host weddings or groups?

Yes! Please call us at 1-844-543-9273 to book your group event or wedding.

Which cottage is best for young kids?

All of our cottages are designed for families. We recommend bringing costumes or themed books to make the stay even more magical.

Do you have room for a Pack ‘n Play?

Yes, every cottage has enough space to accommodate one.

Do you still sell playhouses or gift certificates?

Yes to both! You can purchase gift certificates or request a playhouse quote directly through our website.
